Put down the wire strippers and pick up the controller. In 8bit Quest, you play an apprentice electrician (you pick the name) working your way through five chapters of loose neutrals, overloaded panels, a growling hot tub and one very dramatic fuse box. You'll pick up real electrical safety tips along the way, beat Rex Voltz, the rival apprentice, and win over Inspector Grumble. And Ohmega, the spirit of every corner ever cut? Somebody has to set that right.
It plays like an old-school handheld game, right here in your browser. It takes about 90 minutes to finish, and your progress saves on this device so you can come back anytime.
How to play
- Explore five areas: Wattsville, Breaker Bay, Old Town, Wattsville on storm night, and the Substation.
- Battle wire gremlins with your trade tools. Each type of trouble has a fix that works best: torque the loose stuff, add GFCI protection near water, AFCI for arcing, a load calc when things run hot.
- Solve electrical puzzles: wire a 3-way switch, balance a panel, track down a short, hook up a generator the safe way and follow lockout/tagout.
- Help the neighbors with side quests for useful gear.
- Fill your Fault Log with every gremlin you identify (pick LOG IT in battle).
